For college boat clubs

College rowing, calmly organised.

Recruit novices fairly, put crews in seats, get coaches and coxes to accept, and confirm the final plan — then see who actually trained, term after term.

Private clubs only. Members join by invitation or approved request.

Built for three jobs

A week at a college boat club

  1. 01

    Recruit fairly

Freshers book a taster and two tank sessions. When the last place goes, two simultaneous taps can’t both win, and a waiting list offers the next place with a clear deadline.

  2. 02

    Organise crews

The head coach taps the M2 – Sandford favourite, picks Tuesday 07:00, reviews the suggested seats, chooses a coach and cox, and publishes. Everyone replies in seconds.

  3. 03

    Confirm the plan

When every seat, coach and cox is accounted for, the head coach confirms that exact revision. If the cox drops out later, the confirmation is withdrawn and people are told.

For coaches

A command centre, not a spreadsheet

Coaches open to what needs attention: who hasn’t replied for tomorrow, which seat needs cover, what changed after confirmation. Every row names the unresolved action.

  • Readiness lists every issue, not just the first
  • Material edits require confirmation again, with a readable diff
  • History is kept when people move crews or terms change
  • Attendance is recorded by staff, never inferred from a reply

For crews

Seats, substitutes and changes — clearly

Every rower sees their seat and replies in one tap. Can’t make it? The original selection stays on record, a substitute is proposed, and a coach approves — the place is never awarded twice.

Coaches and coxes accept
Staff acceptance is tracked per session, separately from rowers.
Cover without confusion
Volunteers offer; a coach chooses. Attendance credits who actually rowed.
Race days, one by one
Availability for each racing day, kept apart from selection and entries.
Honest records
Attendance rates with the denominator explained, exportable as CSV.

Eights Week, since 1815

Two centuries on the Isis

The crews change every year. The work of getting eight people and a cox to the boathouse on time does not.

Set up your club this afternoon

Create a private club, add your locations and crews once, and invite your coaches. Members reply from their phones outside the boathouse.
